The wisdom behind happiness

"tis nothing good or bad But thinking makes it so.” (William Shakespeare) Happiness is something that people can easily acquire, never knowing the power you get when you can be grateful for everything. Subsequently, Dan Gilbert speaks about the science of happiness and how humans perceive happiness, he starts with a pop quiz about two situations one is bad and one is good and he asks the audience to choose one depending on how much happiness they would get from either one, he guesses the obvious choice which is the good one. Then he shows them a graph of how much happiness the two people in those situations feel and both of them feel the same happiness. Gilbert is talking about the power to synthesize happiness and how people can utilize that in their daily lives. He says that happiness either natural or synthesized is the same and that people should try to have a positive outlook on life.
